The Windows NDProxy Privilege Escalation is a security vulnerability that was identified and fixed by Microsoft in their MS14-002 security update. The vulnerability allowed attackers with low privileges to elevate their privileges to gain access to sensitive information and carry out malicious activities.
The vulnerability was caused by the NDProxy.sys driver not properly validating input passed from user-mode applications to kernel-mode. This allowed attackers to send specially crafted input to the driver and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
To mitigate this vulnerability, Microsoft released the MS14-002 security update which addresses the issue by correcting the way the NDProxy.sys driver validates input from user-mode applications.
